SIEV certification renewed for the third time: Reino scores up to 9.8

Reino Interieurverzorgers renewed its SIEV certification for the third year in a row on June 11, 2026. At the three audited locations we scored 9.1, 9.7 and 9.8. The auditor from Qualis Insight concluded that both our process and our results are in order.

SIEV stands for Schoonmaak Is Een Vak (Cleaning Is A Profession) and is the recognized industry certification for professional cleaning companies in the Netherlands. Every year, cleaning companies are assessed on quality, transparency, staff policy, safety and corporate social responsibility. For Reino, this is the third year in a row that the certification has been renewed.

“This year the audit was guided for the first time by our new area manager Linda van der Meer. We are proud of our cleaning team, who make this result possible again as a matter of course.”

Three locations audited, three strong scores

The audit on June 11, 2026 was carried out by Mariëlle Anink from Qualis Insight and covered three different locations from our client base: a community location in Haarlemmermeer, a hospital pharmacy in Haarlem and a medical tissue institution in Haarlem.

The scores per location:

  • Community location: 9.1
  • Hospital pharmacy: 9.7 (in 2025: 9.5)
  • Medical tissue institution: 9.8 (in 2025: 9.4)

The two returning locations showed an increase compared to the previous measurement in March 2025. The auditor wrote in her report that cleaning maintenance is in excellent order and that staff received compliments. The SIEV certification can definitely be renewed.

“What makes these three locations special is that each has its own complexity. We have worked with the hospital pharmacy since 1996, and we have served the other two for about two years. These are locations with many visitors and strict quality and hygiene requirements, which makes consistent cleaning essential. That is exactly why these high scores carry extra weight.”

What does a SIEV audit assess?

A SIEV audit goes beyond a quick walk through the building. The assessment consists of three parts: a results evaluation, a process evaluation and a questionnaire on business operations.

Results evaluation: how clean is the building really?

Right after the work is done, each room type is assessed against the required standards. The auditor checks offices, sanitary facilities, meeting rooms, kitchens, traffic areas and other spaces using the LOSK-QMS system. Each element is checked for light dust, heavy dust, dirt, residue and method. Every room type must score at least a 7.0, and the project total must also be at least 7.0.

At the hospital pharmacy, the traffic area scored a 10.0 and the canteen a 10.0. The two minor issues found were light dust on a door frame and some dirt near the sanitary facilities: minimal findings that did not meaningfully lower the overall score.

Process evaluation: does the team work the right way?

Besides the end result, the auditor also assesses how the work is carried out. Is the supply closet tidy? Are work schedules present? Do staff work ergonomically? Are cleaning products dosed correctly? Are personal protective equipment items present and used?

At the medical tissue institution, the process evaluation closed positively. One point flagged again this year, as in previous years, concerns safety glasses: they are available but not always worn. This is an improvement point we are addressing through staff guidance at this location.

Questionnaire: how are business operations organized?

In the certification’s first year, business operations are also reviewed in depth: are personnel files up to date, is the collective labor agreement applied correctly, is there a complaints policy, are keys and access codes secured? From the second year onward, only practical audits take place on site.

What does the SIEV certification mean for you as a client?

As a client, choosing a SIEV-certified cleaning company means choosing demonstrable quality. The certification is not a one-time assessment but an ongoing check: every year there is an announced or semi-announced audit. That means the cleaning company has to perform at a consistent level structurally, not only on the day the cameras are on.

The minimum score for the certification is 7.0 per room type. A 9.7 or 9.8 is therefore not a requirement, but proof that Reino’s standard is structurally higher than the minimum. This comes from having fixed staff per location, good guidance and a way of working that is built into daily practice.

Linda van der Meer: new area manager joins the audit

One notable detail from this year’s report: Linda van der Meer joined the audit as area manager. Linda recently joined Reino and immediately showed that she knows how quality control works in practice. Her presence at the audit is a good sign for how she fills her role.

Certified cleaning company in Haarlem and Haarlemmermeer

Reino Interieurverzorgers is a family business from Haarlem with more than 87 years of experience in professional commercial cleaning. We work for offices, healthcare institutions, schools, community locations and business premises in the Haarlem, Hoofddorp, Schiphol-Rijk, Lijnden, Amstelveen and Haarlemmermeer region.

For us, the SIEV certification is not an end point but a confirmation of how we work every day: with fixed staff per location, a site supervisor as point of contact, digital work registration through the Appreo app and periodic quality inspections through DKS measurements. The SIEV audit shows every year that this approach works.
